"Country" Mac was Mac's cousin and country-dweller equivalent. The "Mac" bit of his name presumably comes from his probable surname McDonald, and the "Country" (obviously representing that he comes from the countryside) differentiates him from Mac, (known as City Mac when the two are together) his cousin of the same name. He drives a motorcycle and almost always has a can of beer in his hand.

Character[]

Country Mac seems to surpass (City) Mac in virtually every way, from his willingness and ability to perform bad-ass stunts to his real competence when it comes to protecting the gang. Country Mac is essentially everything Mac desperately tries to convince himself he is. He out-performs Mac on numerous occasions throughout the one episode he appears in, but he never really seems to realize what he's doing or how it affects Mac. It's clear that he is actually very fond of his cousin, despite his competitive jealousy-fueled dislike of him.

Country Mac is firm in his belief in a more tolerant and loving expression of religion than Mac espouses, and is even able to get the gang to listen to and contemplate some of his spiritual ideas (though the weed they are all actively consuming helps force their cooperation). Unlike Mac (at the time, at least), he is very comfortable and secure in his sexual orientation, confidently confirming his homosexuality when asked. ("Loud and proud, brother.")

Country Mac died as he lived: as a badass.

The gang immediately prefers Country Mac to "City" Mac, and eventually they even try switching the two. Country Mac agrees to stay in Philadelphia, but his stay is short-lived. After a lifetime of reckless stunts, constant drinking, and driving a motorcycle without a helmet, Country Mac dies of a minor motorcycle accident.
