"Frank Falls Out the Window" is the second episode of the eleventh season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Synopsis

Frank falls out of a window and his injury makes him think it's 2006, so the gang use it as a chance to correct past mistakes.

12:10 P.M. on a Wednesday

Charlie forces a gassy Frank to sit on the edge of the window of their apartment, and he ends up falling out onto the pavement below, leaving a huge gash in the back of his head.

Later, the gang is baffled by Frank's strange behavior and believe he's finally lost it. Charlie tells them about the incident, and they ask Frank a series of questions, realizing that he has amnesia and believes it's currently 2006, though Charlie believes he actually went back in time and it's 2006 again. Dennis sees this as an opportunity to right their past wrongs from that year, and plan for him and Dee to reconnect with Frank and swindle him out of his money.

Dennis and Dee take Frank out to Guigino's, where he has flashbacks of past outings there, and they pretend to re-connect. When Frank talks about giving away his money to charity, Dennis and Dee claim to have started a charity to help the people of the Haiti Earthquake, but Frank becomes drawn to their phones, having no memory of the iPhone or Android, and they end up telling him they invented the devices, which blows him away.

Mac takes Charlie to a strip club to take his mind off of Frank, but the latter shows up, and his head wound catches the attention of two strippers. They go back to Charlie's place, where Frank has another series of flashbacks upon seeing his old toe knife. Upon realizing the same events are repeating themselves, Mac and Charlie try to stop Frank from banging the two strippers, only to, once again, get locked out of the room.

That night, Dennis and Dee celebrate their new beginnings, but end up overindulging and become addicted to crack like before. They decide to immediately check themselves into rehab once they get Frank's money. In the meantime, Dennis and Dee, desperate for more crack, try to get money from the welfare center, where they run into Mac and Charlie, again, who are looking for a new roommate for the latter. Dee gets a call from Frank to have them meet with lawyer, Lauren Kirwin who'll write them their check, and they happily leave. However, they learn Frank has told her about their new "inventions" and wants them to present it to her. When they do, their "idea" is seemingly rejected, and Frank storms out of the office. He still decides to help the "poor" by writing an $8,000,000 check for Dennis and Dee, which excites them both. After they leave, Frank experiences another flashback of him calling them crackheads.

Frank returns to Charlie's apartment, where Charlie and Mac are interviewing for new roommates, and easily wins Charlie's favor and attention, much to Mac's dismay. However, Charlie is shocked when the Waitress enters, also applying for the roommate slot, as Mac previously contacted her about it, but failed to mention that she'd be Charlie's roommate, which disgusts her. A disappointed Charlie tries to throw her out the apartment window, believing it'll send her back to 2006, like it did Frank, and they can start over, resulting in heated fight. Frank eats a peace of rum ham and flashes back to the memories of him eating rum ham with the gang, and, upon remembering falling out the window at the beginning, completely regains his memories and asks what everyone is doing in his apartment. The Waitress leaves, along with the two other candidates, and Charlie is happy to have Frank back.

At the bank, Dennis and Dee try to cash Frank's check, but the teller is unable to deposit it because Frank wrote 03/24/2006 on it, rendering it outdated.

• Aisha Hinds reprises her role as the welfare case worker from "Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare".
• The certificate Dennis and Dee present at the welfare office is Frank's certificate from Reid Mental Institution, the mental institution Frank was sent to as a child. It reads, "By the power of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Reid Mental Institution hereby declares Frank Reynolds (Frank crossed out and replaced with Dee) to not (crossed out) have "Donkey Brains."
• Flashbacks to "The Gang Spies Like U.S.", "The Gang Dines Out" and "Dennis and Dee Get a New Dad" are shown when Frank, Dennis and Dee are in Guigino's Italian Restaurant.

• Charlie's remark "It's 2006, and you're still into women" is a callback to the fact that in earlier seasons of this show, Mac was presented as more of a heterosexual than he is now.
• "Just a Friend" by Biz Markie plays two times in the episode and is a throwback to "Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare". Once, it plays a Dee's ringtone, and at the end of the episode when Dee and Dennis find out that they cannot cash the check Frank had made out to them.
• This episode reveals just how truly wealthy Frank is, explaining how the gang has been able to finance their various schemes and adventures. The view of the check that he wrote for Dee and Dennis shows that it is for $8,000,000.
• This episode reveals that Dee has known about Dennis's dark fascination since before the show started. Stating that Dennis only wanted to become a veterinarian to keep the animal pelts, to which Dennis does not deny the allegation.
• As of this episode the Waitress is living in a women's shelter.
