Guest starring[]

  • Jay Jackson as Rick Scheil

  • This episode is the first to use the word "fuck" uncensored in its original airing. Previous episodes have beeped the word. The DVD release of "A Very Sunny Christmas" used it, but it was censored in the TV airing.
  • The episode itself is a parody of the Netflix series "Making a Murderer", and the HBO series "The Jinx." In particular, the scene in which Frank leaves his mic on as he goes to the bathroom and is overhead saying "You're caught" is a reference to a similar scene in "The Jinx." Charlie's mumbling demeanor and constant references to wrestling reference the confession given by Brendan Dassey in "Making a Murderer."
  • Maureen Ponderosa is the second recurring character confirmed to be dead after Barbara Reynolds.
  • The opening credits of this episode are similar to Making a Murderer, except the title of the show itself - where it's shown on the usual black background in white font.
  • Frank's sweatshop is first mentioned in the Season 2 episode "Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody's Ass", and Frank turns the basement of Paddy's into a sweatshop in the Season 3 episode "The Aluminum Monster vs. Fatty Magoo."
  • This is the first episode since "The Gang Goes on Family Fight" to play Temptation Sensation over the end credits.
